Poop

As you can tell by the title, this will be a gross subject - but funny, nonetheless. Sophia is doing great in her big girl panties everyday and, for the most part, has stopped having her issues about pooping on the toilet. In fact, I think she might be starting to enjoy pooping on the toilet so she can see what comes out. It's almost like nature's play-doh. She really likes to describe it to Kyle and/or me while we're in the living room waiting for her to finish. Gross, I told you. Here are some of her descriptions: Rocks, pebbles, nuggets, (then we give her Miralax, and the next day...) a log, a banana, and the most recent - ice cream. The ice cream poop looked just like a swirl of soft serve!! Ha!

3 Months Already!

Our little guy is already 3 months old. He rolled over the day before his 3-month birthday, which was on July 7th, and later that same evening he laughed out loud. Well, it was more like a little chuckle. So cute! The video is him rolling over today and below are a few pics I took yesterday.

Happy Birthday, America!

A Beautiful Summer Day on the Water

Last Friday (July 3rd) we decided to take the boat out on the Sound with Jeremy, Sandy and their boys, Dylan and Evan. It was kind of last minute, but it turned out to be one of the best times we've had in a while. It was really hot, but the breeze from the boat ride made it feel so nice out.

Our bathing beauty...

Dylan drove for a while - I can't believe he's so old now!
Then the most exciting part of all... We saw some porpoises out by Johnson Point. It was so exciting. There were at least 4 of them.

So I looked it up online and learned that there are Harbor Porpoises, Dalls Porpoises, and a hybrid of the the two in the Sound. (And slight possibility they were Pacific white-sided dolphins.) Here are some links to a couple interesting articles and a video:

Sophia wanted to lasso one of them.
Griffin still enjoys his tongue.
Then we parked the boat by the Oyster House restaurant and took a break. We walked over to the water fountains to play and had hot dogs, popsicles, and gelato. What a great day!

A Cute Little Tongue

Griffin at 12 weeks.

He has discovered his tongue and his hands. He is also starting to really chew on his fists and is drooling a lot. Most of his size 3 month outfits are too small and he's in 6 month stuff now. It's really going by much quicker than it did with Sophs. I try to remind myself that I will always have housework to do and errands to run, but I won't always have babies to enjoy. So I take as many moments as I can squeeze in to just play and talk with my kiddies.

I will be signing Sophia up for preschool this fall. She'll go on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-11:30. We went and checked it out and she seemed to like it. I think the socialization and structure will be good for her. So that is our exciting news for now.

How Beautiful!

I believe this is a Swallowtail Butterfly, which I rarely see around our house, so I was so excited I was able to notice it from the kitchen window (doing dishes...) and run out to take a pic with our awesome camera! The plant in the pic is one of my astilbes. They are good for attracting butterflies.

I don't know who taught him this...
